DRIFT OM TE DANSEN | ELEKTRA
Drift Om Te Dansen, known for its dynamic and high-quality electronic music, asked me to create a sculptural centrepiece for their Elektra Stage at this year’s festival.
The goal was to create a recognizable landmark that would elevate the overall stage experience. The design needed to be striking yet seamlessly integrated into the industrial backdrop of the De Vasim venue..
To realise this vision, we designed Elektra as a kinetic sculpture that revealed and concealed itself based on the viewer’s perspective.
The sculpture was constructed with layers of translucent material, allowing for a dynamic interplay of light, both natural and artificial. This design enabled the sculpture to interact with its environment, creating a dynamic effect of light and movement.
