Did you know that plants can sense human intentions? In the 1960s, Cleve Backster's groundbreaking experiments revealed that plants connected to a polygraph would react when he merely thought about harming them—an unseen connection between the plant realm and human consciousness.
Inspired by this concept, we created an interactive sound sculpture for Ripples 3. This installation explored the invisible threads between humans and nature, allowing audiences to engage with the piece during the event.
The installation offered a space for reflection, a tangible homage to Backster's theories captured in "The Secret Life of Plants." As visitors waved their hands near the plant's aura, plant-generated melodies wove naturally into the venue's sonic landscape, creating a tangible metaphor for the symbiotic relationship we share with all living things.
